Singular and Plural Nouns


Some plural nouns are not formed with 's':

When a word starts with a vowel sound  'a' changes to 'an' SingularPlural

Uncountable Nouns



There are nouns that you cannot count. You cannot use 'a' or 'an' before these nouns, and you cannot make them plural:
a bread - bread

a traffic - traffic

a music - music

an equipment - equipment
s

Definite Article 'the'The definite article 'the' is the same for singular, plural and uncountable nouns:
  • a table  the table
  • actors  the actors
  • information  the information
AdjectivesAdjectives never take a plural 's':
  • a good friend  good friends
  • an old man  old men
  • She is kind.  They are kind.
